ElderCounsel Volunteers at VA Medical Center in Washington DC

During the team retreat in Washington, DC, the ElderCounsel team had the privilege of visiting the VA Medical Center. The team spent time visiting with Veterans, serving them lunch and playing music for them. Serving Veterans and their loved ones is part of the ElderCounsel passion and purpose, so it was an honor to have the opportunity to hear their stories and show them a token of our gratitude.

The Washington DC VA Medical Center, is the only health care system that specifically provides care to Veterans. The center provides care such as: invasive and noninvasive cardiology, home based primary care, women’s health, MRI, PET/CT center, interventional radiology, renal care, trauma services, nutritional services, homeless outreach, compensated work therapy, substance abuse treatment, recreation therapy, and alternative therapies as well as a wide variety of Telehealth services. The center is committed to helping Veterans successfully transition from active duty to civilian life.

After sharing stories and a BBQ luncheon, Veterans at the center enjoyed a short musical show by ElderCounsel. The team enjoyed such a special time visiting and serving those who served our country selflessly.
