Shout it from the Rooftops—May is National Elder Law Month!

We understand the importance of practicing elder law, but others in your community may not appreciate the value of your services until it's too late. The National Elder Law Month designation was established by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) as a way to acknowledge the profession that supports the senior community with all of their planning needs. Elder Law Month is recognized by attorneys across the country, many of whom offer special activities to educate the public about this important area.

You have four weeks to educate your community on the importance of what you do as an elder law attorney. Here are some ideas:
  1. Host a luncheon or coffee hour
  2. Take a referral source to lunch
  3. Write a “What is Elder Law” blog and share on social media
  4. In an electronic newsletter include a client story or testimonial that capitalizes on the value of your services.
These are these tactics you should be implementing year-round, but since it’s National Elder Law Month, you have an extra incentive to help raise awareness and gain business for your firm.

Elder law is a specialized area of law that involves assisting seniors, people with disabilities, and their families with a variety of legal issues, from estate planning to long term care issues. The demand for specialized elder law is growing. Now is a great time to reach out to community members as an advocate and resource.
Our passion at ElderCounsel is to equip attorneys like you to serve this growing population and be known as the go-to attorney in your area. If you have questions about adding elder law to your practice or how ElderCounsel can arm you with the right tools for success, email info@eldercounsel.com or check out eldercounsel.com.
