Account Manager Spotlight: Maggie Smothers

Every ElderCounsel member has a dedicated Account Manager. This person is a gateway to utilizing all of the resources and tools provided in membership. From ElderDocx training and assistance, to marketing and business development tools, Account Managers make it easier to incorporate everything into a law firm.

We are putting each Account Manager in the spotlight over the next few weeks and will have an interview with Dania, Alexis, Bekka and Maggie to learn a little more about them.

Maggie lives in Seattle with her husband and four kids. They enjoy camping, hiking, basketball, and outdoor activities in the natural beauty of Washington. Maggie brings an extensive background in working with attorneys and is excited to help them develop their bottom line!

Tell us a little about your background and how you came to ElderCounsel:
I have worked in this industry for about 10 years. I spent a little over 9 years at WealthCounsel. I started with their marketing program called Advisors Forum and worked as an Account Manager there and then in their sales department working with Wealth Docx, Business Docx, Gun Docx & their marketing solution. I was told about this opening from another employee and thought this would be a great fit and it is!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The members! I really love hearing about their journey to success as well as getting to know them on a personal level. Creating that rapport is key to understanding their needs and how we here at ElderCounsel can help them utilize their membership to the fullest.
What are you most excited about this year at ElderCounsel?
I am most excited about the amazing Practice Enhancement Program we just relaunched. To be a successful elder law attorney you must market. Our members don't always have a huge staff so this program really allows them to have key content that they can customize to show their prospects they are the go to attorney!
If you could give one piece of advice to new members, what would it be?
Be confident! To be confident you have to learn, ask questions, and keep in contact with your Account Manager to stay on track. With your membership there is a lot of collaboration, resources, education, and more. Take advantage of it all in an organized way and you will be successful.

Maggie is the Account Manager for the western coast including the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
