D. Randall Drake feels compelled to give hope and assistance to those in need in his area of practice in Mountain Home, Arkansas. After seeing the wealth of untapped resources in the area that seniors may not otherwise know about, he had a dream to bring resources and information together in one place where the public would be able to learn and become better equipped in the issues the aging population faces.
His vision resulted in the annual Elder Care Symposium—a free event for the community where highly qualified speakers present on a range of important topics the aging population face. The 2nd Annual Elder Care Symposium was recently held with topics including paying for long term care, a positive approach to caregiving for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia, avoiding scams & exploitation of the elderly, managing paranoia, and life after caregiving.
D. Randall Drake engaged the local hospital and college to support this endeavor, as well as having many local sponsors from the fields of health care, senior living, education and finance, among others.
Hundreds have attended this event and state the information they received has been invaluable, and the heart of this event was accomplished—to enrich and uplift!
