Set 2022 Intentions for Your Law Practice

Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction, meditation, a higher power, goal-setting, or just positive thinking (all of the above?), it would likely behoove you to set your intentions for the coming year. What are some professional goals that you want to achieve in 2022? How can you motivate yourself and your team to achieve these goals? While your firm probably has unique aspects that you should be mindful of, here is a good list to get you started.

  1. Be thankful for what you have.
Be happy, content, and grateful for what you have achieved thus far. Be proud of your success and don’t be afraid to share your story. Wake up each day with a thankful heart; see what a difference it makes!

  2. Set concrete financial goals.
Do you have a total revenue goal for 2022? You should! Be realistic but also set a high standard. Break down the overall goal into smaller, achievable steps that serve as milestones that you and your staff can celebrate.

  1. Create a marketing plan.
Nivan’s research indicates that 33% of people looking for a lawyer begin their search online. However, nearly 100% of folks looking for legal advice start their research online. You need a solid plan to reach these potential clients. Don’t know where to start or don’t have the time to do it? 1. Communicate your goals to your staff.
You hired smart and talented people – use them to reach your goals! Clearly communicate your goals to them. Have monthly meetings about those goals and your progress thus far. You could create contests or give awards – everyone is motivated to work towards an extra day off or a financial bonus!

If you don’t have a plan for your firm, then you likely don’t know what your goals are. With a proper plan in place, you can not only more efficiently work towards those goals, you can achieve them!
