Last week, WealthCounsel and ElderCounsel hosted Symposium 2018 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, California. Attendees enjoyed 2 ½ days packed with robust education, valuable networking, dynamic presenters, and dozens of practice solutions featured in the exhibit hall. Symposium 2018 encouraged interaction in every session, as well as thought-provoking topics designed to help attendees become even more successful, despite a changing industry.
We think most (if not all) would agree that the most memorable speaker was Dr. Edith Eva Eger. An Auschwitz survivor, speaker, human dignity advocate, and author, her story of survival, freedom, and forgiveness is remarkable and inspiring. During her opening keynote, she told stories of different phases of healing and showed how people can choose to escape the prisons they construct in their minds and find freedom, regardless of circumstance. Support Dr. Eger in her effort to make a positive change in the world by reading her book "The Choice" which weaves her personal story with case studies from her work as a psychologist.
ElderCounsel CEO Valerie Peterson gave a quick ElderCounsel update and a look into the future for attendees. Watch her full opening remarks in the video below.
The days flew by even though sessions started early, went through lunch with “Lunch & Learn” presentations, and carried attendees until 5pm. Each day ended with fun evening social and networking receptions.
Not only does the Symposium offer quality education, valuable networking and dynamic presenters, but it also hosts a platform to explore countless products and services available to complement your law business. This year’s event welcomed 47 participating vendors eager to support estate and elder law practices.
